The Los Angeles Zoo & Botanical Gardens
Lions, tigers, alligators, monkeys and bears are all residents at the fantastic Los Angeles Zoo & Botanical Gardens. The zoo was opened in 1966 and is owned and operated by the city of Los Angeles. On July 1, 1997, the zoo even became its own city department.
The zoo has a number of daily shows, general activities and stunning botanical gardens.
